Peugeot 203 Torpèdo Tour de France

This example is based on a D3S type bodywork base corresponding to the convertible version and was produced in 1954. It has benefited from a well-done older restoration. On July 8, 1954, the crowds who gathered in Amsterdam to watch the start of the fabulous Tour de France Cycliste were amused to discover a new vehicle following the cyclists: the Peugeot 203 Torpédo Tour de France. Produced in 12 identical copies by Peugeot in the special workshops of Garenne-Colombes, it was intended for easy contact between cyclists and their support teams, while allowing the transport of bicycles. As such, it has no door and has a basic hood, while the bicycle racks are anchored to the rear. Two more similar ones would be manufactured in 1955 and the beginning of the 1960s.
