The 1950s to 1970s saw the emergence of beach cars for opulent customers living on the Mediterranean coast, or yacht owners. Giovanni Michelotti based the Shellette on the Fiat 850, a design that he realized with yacht designer Phillip Schell. The Shellette which differentiated from other beach cars by a specific form, much more accomplished and very modern. 

The Fiat Shellette that we present was offered to the current owner in 1983 and was registered in Corsica on September 2nd of the same year. The copy of the registration card informs us that the previous owner was Monegasque and had owned it since 1971. The last insurance certificate dates back to 1997, the last year she drove before being stored dry in the garage of a magnificent property in the Rambouillet region. 

The production was extremely limited and would not exceed 80 units.
