Italy's oldest surviving motorcycle manufacturer, Benelli was founded in 1911 by the six Benelli brothers. Benelli is best known for its Grand Prix successes in the 1960s when it secured two 250cc World Championships, and also for its outrageous six-cylinder road bikes of the 1970s. Launched alongside the Turismo version in 1959, the 175 Sport produced 12bhp, which was good for a top speed of around 112km/h. This superb example was imported into Sweden from Italy in 1997 by well known restorer Mr Häken Widlund and restored by him in 2004. The machine is offered with the 1997 purchase receipt and old Italian registration papers. A total of 40,056 kilometres is displayed on the odometer.
